What is the benefit of having a water filter in my fridge?
The PuriClean 2 Filter UKF8001AXX removes the following impurities from your
drinking water:
- 99% of Lead , 99% of Mercury, 99% of Asbestos, 99 of Cysts, 77% of herbicides, 93% - 99% insecticides, 97% Chlorine and 99% of particles of rust, sand, dirt and sediment (0.5 to 1 micron in size).
- It is also reported to improve the clarity of the water by up to 97%.
- This filter does NOT remove Fluoride.
- Overall, it provides better tasting and smelling water with improved clarity.
Changing the filter regularly in your ice/water refrigerator also reduces the buildup of scale in your ice-making mechanism thereby reducing the need for costly services.
The UKF8001AXX filter is tested and certified by NSF International to meet or exceed NSF/ANSI Standards 42 & 53.
How do I install my new filter?
Installing your new water filter:
- Unlatch the plastic filter cover, and let it swing down (so you can see the filter)
- Twist the old filter a quarter-turn counterclockwise
- Pull the filter straight out and discard (The water will shut off automatically)
- Push the new filter into the fridge until it stops
- Twist the filter a quarter-turn clockwise
- Swing the plastic filter cover up until it snaps closed
- Reset your "change filter" light (if your fridge has one)
Resetting your "change filter" light:
Press and hold the dispenser lock and auto light buttons on the dispenser (at the same time) for 4 seconds until the filter status indicator begins to flash, then release the buttons.
OR
Press the dispenser lock and water buttons for 4 seconds until the filter status indicator begins to flash, then release the buttons.
